This Manuka is the most common type of Leptospermum in the forests of New Zealand.
The seeds are very small and fragile, so handle them gently. This is a manuka species thathas prolific amounts of white flowers in spring. The honey collected from Manuka flowers is known as Manuka Honey.
Plant these in bulk on top of the soil or potting mix, because many of them will not sprout because the plant produces many seeds not all of which are viable but it is impossible totell which from their appearance. Do not cover the seeds with soil or potting mix just place over the surface and keep the soil or potting mix damp. Seeds take about 50 days to germinate.
